CUP is hiring summer interns!

CUP is hiring summer interns!

CUP is hiring two interns to start in June 2021!

We are looking for two interns to support CUP in our communications and Youth Education work.

CUP interns assist with several projects and learn about CUP’s methods for using design to meet community needs. This includes:

+Research and general support with CUP’s Community Education and Youth Education programs, like Making Policy Public and Urban Investigations

+Outreach to CUP partners, like community organizations and designers

+Administrative work, like database upkeep

+Learning to write in an accessible and friendly voice

Each position will have responsibilities in addition to the ones listed above. As a Youth Education Intern, you'll support Youth Education programs through research, outreach, and helping Teaching Artists in the classroom. As a Communications Intern, you'll also support in creating visuals and content for CUP's website, newsletter, and social media platforms.

These positions are intended for those who haven’t had access to many internships or opportunities to work in an office or nonprofit environment. We’re looking for folks with a passion for social justice, great attention to detail, and strong verbal and written communication skills.

These will both be remote internships. Dates for the internship are flexible, but we’re looking for someone who can work for CUP for a minimum of 2, 8-hour days a week, for 10-weeks. Please include the internship you're interested in (Youth Education or Communications), why it's a good fit for you, and your availability in your cover letter.

The internship pays $17 per hour, or you can choose to receive school credit if your school offers it.

To apply, you’ll need to create an account on Submittable, fill in your contact information, and upload a resume and a cover letter addressing which position you are interested in, any relevant skills or experiences, and why you’d like to work at CUP. Please submit all materials through Submittable by May 12 at noon, EST.

We understand that meeting this deadline might be a challenge for some. Please email [email protected] if you need additional time. No phone calls, please.

CUP is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to fair and inclusive employment practices, and strongly encourage Black, Indigenous, and people of color; women; LGBTQ individuals; people with disabilities; and others who may contribute to the diversification of ideas to apply.
